Hi folks,
Long time lurker here. This mailing list search problem has been solved by
the really smart folks who maintain Squeak <https://squeak.org/> Smalltalk.
The tool they have developed (to access their own mailing lists) needs a
few small modifications to access this list's archives.
Here are the steps:
0 - Download the attached files
1 - Install Squeak <https://squeak.org> and start it.
2 - From the Tools menu, click on Install Squeak Inbox Talk. It should open
a browser on the Squeak developers mailing list. You can close that
browser.
3 - From the Tools menu, open a *File List* and navigate to the folder
holding the attached files. Selecting each one and clicking the *FileIn* button
on the File List's toolbar will make the necessary changes.
4 - Lastly, from the Tools menu, click Workspace and paste in the
following:
  *(TalkInboxBrowser on: TalkInbox gnucashUsers) open.*
Right-click the text and select Do-it from the context menu.
This should open a browser on the gnucash user list. From its settings
menu, change the lookback range to get older messages to Search :)

Hope this helps (and I hope it works for you :).

Happy trails,
John
