[GNC] Newbie: Gnucash credit card payment transactions don't make sense

Your CC account must have the wrong type. The column labels (as you have 
turned off "formal accounting labels") should be "Payment" and "Charge" 
for a CC account.

The credits in the bank account are correctly being balanced by debits in 
the CC account.

If you set them to the correct account type the debit (left) column will 
be labelled "Payment".

However, it looks as though you have put some charges in backwards ...
