Welcome, Farah Halim!
Because it's a frequent stumbling block for new users, I'll mention this
to prepare you for how GnuCash handles reports:
In many apps, you select various report options and then click a button
to show the report with those options. GC works differently. In GC, you
select a report, and it comes up right away, THEN you click the Options
button and select report options.
When you select a report, don't be dismayed if it comes up with no data.
Go into Options and select a date range, desired accounts for the
report, and so forth. Then go to the report and press F5 or Ctrl+R to
get it to update based on your options choices. It's a good idea to look
at very option and experiment with them till you get a good idea of how
they work.
When you have the report the way you want, click Reports » Save Report
Configuration As in the menu. The next time you want it, click Reports »
Saved Report Configurations and select the report. It will come up with
the options you saved earlier.
(A time-saving tip: for many reports, including Balance Sheet and Profit
and Loss/Income Statement among others, you don't need to select
specific accounts. Instead, you can just click "Select All" on the
Accounts panel of Options. The Balance Sheet will show only assets,
liabilities, and equity accounts; the Income Statement will show only
income and expense accounts, and so forth.)
