[GNC] Investment report including purchase dates and costs

The pre-baked investment reports I have found (Advanced Portfolio and
Investment Portfolio under Assets & Liabilities) lack the securities'
purchase dates. Advanced Portfolio obviously makes use of them without
making them explicit. Is there any way of including them explicitly,
short of implementing lots? I haven't yet bothered with lots, because
Switzerland has no capital gains tax. If there is no other way, can I
count on the  "Scrub Account" function to miraculously create the
needed data? What unwanted side effects might that entail?
