[GNC] gnucash initial display

I could be wrong here — but, when you say "I would be presented with a window that displayed all of the accounts that had been open during my previous session", I am assuming they are opened in the register setting. In other words, if you had your checking account open and your savings account open and some expense account open, all three would be open in the register setting and you could just go from one to the other when you reopen the program.

If what I said above is correct (this is my assumption based upon your statement), then the solution is simple. Open the accounts you want opened, and then use the "X" button (top right side) to exit the program. GnuCash leaves you in the state that you were when you leave the program, if you use this button to exit. Since every session now that you are leaving, you are in the account window, that is what is presented when you return.

Subject: [GNC] gnucash initial display

I recently had reason to reinstall gnucash on a new W11 computer. In
reinstalled & opened a recent .gnucash file.

In the past, when I opened gnucash, I would be presented with a window that
displayed all of the accounts that had been open during my previous session.

Now, I am only presented with the 'accounts' window & and must choose which
accounts I wish to work with. Clicking 'save' before exiting the program
does not help.

I am using v 5.12.

Thoughts?

Thanx,

GK
