All the fields that belong to splits are (potentially) different for each 
split.

All the fields that belong to the transaction itself occur only once per 
transaction.

Of those listed above, Memo belongs to splits, and Description and Notes 
belong to the transaction. You can readily see this if you look at a txn 
in split double-line view.
