Try to enter the following command on the console:

$ export LANG=de_DE@euro

and then run gnucash from the console, i.e.

$ gnucash

If the problem continues to be there, please send information about the 
gnucash version number, the suse distribution version number, and the 
output of

$ env | grep '^L'
