I have no idea what "the KDU menu" is, nor do I know anything about
KDE -- I've never used it.  I always use "rpm" directly.

What happens if you run this command from your shell, as root:

 rpm -Uvh ftp://rufus.w3.org/linux/redhat/7.3/en/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS/gnucash-1.6.6-3.i386.rpm

It will probably give you some missing dependencies (like g-wrap,
Guppi, etc).  Try downloading those missing RPMs from the same
location and installing by hand using "rpm -Uvh".

The rpm works fine.  I've seen it work fine on multiple machines.
The problem is most certainly on your end.
