These are questions only Christian Stimming can answer, since he developed the 
Gnucash-OpenHBCI interface.
I'm quite involved in OpenHBCI itself, but have absolutely no knowledge of the 
Gnucash part (I would have to dig into the whole GnuCash code to at least 
have a foggy view on what's going on inside ;-)

I totally agree, in fact, I think there should be a kind of feedback for all 
HBCI jobs you issue. Isn't there any type of status window ?
If not then it is simply a GUI matter (which I would like to pass to 
Christian), since OpenHBCI itself *does* maintain a detailed status for each 
job.
