Just to be clear, I was referring to this statement from
http://lexingtonhelpwanted.com: "The majority of the GnuCash 1.6.x
dependencies are satisfied by installing standard Gnome 1.4 core
libraries. The only dependencies beyond a standard Gnome 1.4
installation are Guppi, Guile, slib and G-Wrap."

If the gnome help browser is part of the core libraries, great. No
additional documentation should be needed, beyond the above that's
already there. If gnome has to be installed to the point where a
user has to choose a gnome help browser through some gnome GUI
interface, I think that would be a brand new requirement. If gnome
has to be the active window manager to run GnuCash, that would
definitely be a brand new requirement. Is it so unreasonable to
expect to be able to run Gnome apps from KDE, or KDE apps from
Gnome, or apps from either from some other window manager? Linux is
about choice and configurability. Surely I'm not the only GnuCash
user who uses a different desktop or wm?

I understand the advantages of using Gnome and Gtk libraries and so
on. I'm not suggesting that stop. I'm just hoping that it won't
become significantly more difficult for us non-Gnome users to
continue using this great financial application.

Thanks,
