Using newer versions of guile and g-wrap

Are you really saying that gnucash 1.7.x (and by extension, 1.8) will not
support guile 1.6?

To sum up the dependency:
  gnucash              g-wrap           guile
  1.6.x             1.1.11 or 1.2.x    < 1.5.x
  1.7.x,1.8         above plus 1.3.4   < 1.5.x

What versions of guile work properly on 64 bit arches?
