Well, since HBCI is only used in Germany it is more likely to get answers to
HBCI-related questions in gnucash-de.
Anyway: What do you mean by "the bank was unable to test the card" ?
If even the bank is unable to read your card, then nobody else will be...
Otherwise you could try this:
"hbcicard dump --loglevel notice"
and send the output to libchipcard-devel (or gnucash-de).
If you do please make sure that the log does not contain any sensitive data
(like your userid).
