Okay, I retract that last statement..  I do see it.  It's a problem in
src/gnome/schemas, where (for some reason) it's trying to install
gconf schemas using gconftool-2, which obviously dont work if you're
not root.

I dont know enough about gconf to comment on whether this is a good
thing or a bad thing, or if there's a "better" way to install gconf
schemas.  (NOTE: This is yet another reason I consider the whole gconf
concept broken, in the same way that the windows registry is broken --
it ties application installation to a particular machine, making it
much more difficult have shared application installations).
