We do have a policy of depeneding on "old" libraries: those in the major
distros that have been out for >=6 months at the time of the gnucash
release.  As these might not always be the most current, this may
require some per-distro packaging work.  Perhaps in the mean time you
can work around your package manager.

This weekend I'm going to track down when the major distros did releases
and which versions of which dependent libraries with respect to the
libgoffice issue.
