It seems to be a common financial term -- I easily found a translation
in any standard dictionary.

Seems to me they should rather not be translated. To me these seem like
field names in a QIF file, which a bank might choose either to use in
english or in some weird translated form. I'd rather leave that whole
section from qif-parse.c untranslated.
