I found a historical regression in the past translation of Chinese.

Dear Tao et al.,

the relationship between Translation Project (TP) and gnucash is just fine.

There used to be some disagreements in 2007/2008, but subsequently the TP
maintainer has changed and the disagreements disappeared. The current state of
cooperation says that it is up to each translation team to decide whether they
will contribute through the TP or directly through our mailing list.

HOWEVER your problem here points out two missing links in this state of
translation handling:

- The TP does *not* update its language po files in case the newest
gnucash.tar.gz contains more translations than the TP. This is a severe
problem because:

- Neither the gnucash developers nor the TP add any automatic notification to
the TP's language statistics if the gnucash SVN and subsequently
gnucash.tar.gz contains more up-to-date po files of any language when compared
to the TP's state.

For almost all languages, this problem has been resolved by marking the
language as "external" on the TP. This was done in Summer 2009 [1], where the
TP maintainer specifically asked me for a list of languages which have been
contributed via the mailing list instead of the TP. Unfortunately, zh_CN seems
to have slipped through in this check. It should have been marked external as
well at that time. I am very sorry for that and I've just notified the TP
maintainer to change that.

Apart from zh_CN, indeed none of the other TP languages have been contributed
through the mailing list. Hence, this is a singular case which unfortunately
occurred for your language. Again I am sorry for that.

Best Regards,

Christian
