Yes, you're right. You should have begun talking to us a month ago. You can't successfully apply for GSoC by parachuting in at the last minute.

If you are actually interested in working on improving Gnucash then stick around. You can write patches and attach them to enhancement requests in Bugzilla, and we'll review them for possible incorporation into Gnucash. You won't get paid and you won't get the mentoring attention that the GSoC students will get, but you can certainly contribute.

As for the Indian Languages support, AFAIK there's no programming required, just translations. If that interests you, see http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Translation for instructions. If you do know of problems with rendering Indian languages, the place to bring them up is the gtk-i18n mailing list: http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gtk-i18n-list
