I wouldn't say that the non-gui parts are "better" maintained on HEAD.
There are definitely non-gui changes in-progress, QSF being the biggest
one. Being in this mode of having two active-development branches (HEAD
*and* the G2 branch) is a weird/bad place to be...
The G2 branch is periodically synced to HEAD. Thus, HEAD has all the G2
changes plus a small set of others. But since G2 is priority, I think
otherwise un-related changes have been going on on the G2 branch, as
well.
We should probably think about discontinuing the G2 branch at some point
soon. I don't see the benefit, at this point.

Great! Happy to have the help! I don't think anyone is currently
working on the new invoice code; you should definitely coordinate with
Neil about the QSF import piece.
