SEGFAULT when importing old (binary) files

i want to use gnucash but i can't if i the reporting wont work and I
need to know to get on with things :)

please can someone tell me what i'm doing wrong if anything that I can't
get reports to show a transaction list by payee.....at least thats how
cbb does it.....i'm just trying to setup so i know how  much money goes
to which vendor :)

i saw the message from other gentleman and reply that gnucash is gearing
towards highend and thats fine more power to it but surely this fine app
can do this simple report I need........:)ha and i'm just not doing it
right.........
