I'm not sure how to fix this, but I think you are confusing 'cleared'
and 'reconciled'. =20

'Cleared' means that the bank has paid the amount (its been
withdrawn/deposited).   (Because you may write a check on one day,
note it in gnucash, but the person recieving the check may not cash
it for a week or more).

'Reconciled' means 'cleared' *and* that you have manually compared
(using the reconcile dialog) the bank statement to your list of
deposits/withdrawls).

Once a transaction has been marked 'reconciled', it will never show
up in the reconcile window again. =20

I am not sure why your quicken import didn't mark the old data as
'reconciled' as opposed to 'cleared'. =20
