Will GnuCash ever work for me?

And I haven't, because I've tried debian and found it no better.  I
find that when I try to do things like the recipe that Paul gives in
his next message in this thread have a tendency to break my system, or
install 7000 packages that I didn't want to upgrade.  Or both.

At least with Red Hat, I KNOW what I've installed...  One is no better
than the other.  Just different.  

I'm gonna switch back to Slackware...
