Compiling on slackware 8.0 (current) problem with printf function

Hey thanks a lot. I got gnucash to compile and install. Now I'm faced
with another problem: slib

I grabbed the latest slib-2d4 and uzipped it in /usr/share/guile

I ran guile and

guile> (use-modules (ice-9 slib))
guile> (load "/usr/share/guile/slib/mklibcat.scm")
guile> (quit)

slibcat was created in /usr/share/guile

I still get the error that slib cannot be found:

It appears you do not have the 'slib' scheme library installed.
You need slib2c4 or later to run GnuCash.

I don't recall going through all these steps before, but I could be wrong.
Is it possible, because I did this after installing gnucash, that I need
to recompile gnucash?

I'm running guile-1.4, is it possible that g-wrap is incompatible with
this version of guile?
