problem compiling gtkhtml

I did not se the control-center-devel package on the RH or the OS distro sites, so did not know it was a separate package from the basic control-center package.

Which version of the control-center-devel package do you have installed? Seems like the 1.4.0.1 version requires image libraries that are outdated by the ones used by many of the RH 8 programs. In particular libImlib.so.1 is needed by control-center-devel 1.4.0.1 but the lib on RH 8 is libImlib.so.11 and the rpm command complains about installing the earier version.

What version of Linux are you using that had no problem with the installation of the control-center-devel package?
