GnuCash is a gnome-1.4 application.  You need glib-1 to build it.
That means you need the "glib" and "glib-devel" packages (the glib-2
packages wont work).

You also need the rest of gnome 1.4...

Because the "lastest" gnucash is a gnome 1.4 app..   Yes.

Why not install the Red Hat 9 GnuCash RPM?  You can find it at:

        http://people.redhat.com/notting/gnucash/

Should save you a lot of time.
