Sales tax rounding and other rounding issues

For example QuickBooks has a global option to select the rounding method 
for invoices.
What matters though is that I can adjust 1 cent difference in sales tax on 
a bill, as this is a reality of life.
Some packages have bugs in rounding, which I need to handle somehow when 
entering the bill.
