gday!

i had the same question a few weeks back...

> Gnucash's data files do not take a lot of space, so it seems that

it is true, the data files don't take much space but i use guncash-1.6 (i
know i need to upgrade... working on it) now since jan 2002 for all my
personal finance and i love it. it turned out to be my favorite think to do
in the morning EVERY morning. the data file if over 3 megs and contains some
86000 lines and gnucash is awefully slow on my sun/ultra10/440Mhz/512MB.
depending on the reports i hold open it takes awefully long to start up.
generating and switching between reports takes very long as well.

my machine isnt the fastest but it is amazing how so little data can take so
much load. (no critics here! i suppose the account balances are recomputed
from the first transaction onwards everytime...)

cheers

rene
