Question about printing invoices

You can type shorthand.  For example if you want to get to
Expense:Foo:Bar you can type e:f:b and the autocompletion
code will choose the first match.  So if you have:

Expense:Foo:Bar
       :Football:Balls
       :Feet:Toes

You would have to use e:foo:b or e:foot:b or e:fe:t

You can also use the arrow keys (up/down) in the menu once the menu
pops up.  For example you could type e: and it would pop up the menu
into the "Expenses" section of the accounts, and then you can up/down
arrow to the right one.

BTW, your interpretation of account codes is correct.  Gnucash doesn't
use them for anything, and there are no plans to change this.
