Yes, I downloaded libltool-1.5 source and compiled it (I don't like rpm
packages). Now there is:
root at workstation:~>ls -la /usr/lib/libltdl*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 71992 2004-01-29 14:18
/usr/lib/libltdl.a
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 782 2004-01-29 14:18
/usr/lib/libltdl.la
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root root 16 2004-01-29 14:18
/usr/lib/libltdl.so -> libltdl.so.3.1.0
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root root 16 2004-01-29 14:18
/usr/lib/libltdl.so.3 -> libltdl.so.3.1.0
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 63603 2004-01-29 14:18
/usr/lib/libltdl.so.3.1.0
So, everything seems allright. I once again removed gnucash,g-wrap und
guile and slib and rebuiled everything.
The problem is still the same. gnucash does not start. Still complaining
about this unbound variable :-(.
So I give it up!

OK, indeed, it is not a distribution, but it is the best way to learn
how is a linux system works "behind the curtain". So it was a great
experience for me to build the system. And it is working very well. All
applications including X, KDE and GNOME are running well. I was even
able to compile Mozilla 1.5 which was really difficult because a lot of
dependencies.
GnuCash is the first application I ran in serious trouble with. Trouble
which I could not manage :-(

Don't worry and get angry about me and my problems. It is
understandable. That's alright, Derek. I understand that you haven't got
more time for my very specific problems. So I'm on my own lost somewhere
in the middle of the desert without water ;-) But it was me who went
there on my own. Nobody forced me to ;-)

That's allright. Thank you for your assistence, Derek.
