Other options are:
1/ Use an encryption tool such as GPG to encrypt/decrypt the file
before/after starting gnucash.
2/ House your data-file within an encrypted file system which
periodically times-out.
We've generally resisted implementing this within gnucash -- which is a
personal finance program, and not a security tool.
