Upgrade to 2.05 won't read saved files!!

Hi!
I just upgraded to 2.05 in the process of upgrading Debian and
Although the first time I used Gnucash I didn't have problems
(other than it telling me I already had copies of reports, so save as
or something; not a critical error), now I cannot open any old or new
saved file. When I do try, I get an error dialog that looks like this:
Can't parse the URL /home/tnm/.gnucash/books/newtest.

Any ideas of what's going on?
