If crappy email clients are always worked around, what incentive is there for
them to be fixed?

FWIW, most of the mailing lists I'm on don't munge Reply-To ... traditional
listservs and yahoo groups, in particular.  I'm just in the habit of doing
Reply-To-All (F in gnus, Shift-Ctrl-R in Evo, ...) when dealing with lists.
