Hi Paul,

You will probably want to re-sync when you exit gnucash, too. 

Maybe you should create a script on both machines which checks for a network 
link, and if present runs unison before starting and after closing GC?

Your load time will obviously increase, but it is dead easy, as you found out, 
for unison to trash your data files if you do something unusual on one 
machine or the other.

Personally, I would probably use a USB stick to hold the master copy, and use 
sneakernet  to use either machine (with a backup copy on both!).
