Hi, all. I just joined the list after browsing the archives a bit.
I switched from OS/2 to to Linux (Ubuntu) at the beginning of 2007 and
started using gnucash on January 1 of this year. So I'm still a bit of a
n00b with both. I did take two years of Accounting in high school (way
back when it was all paper and pencil) so double-entry accounting came
(back) to me pretty smoothly.
I came to browse the archives hoping to find out how to enable OFX
importing. I found what I needed, more or less, and it's working now
even though I have to go in and change the transfer accounts myself.
I'll admit that I found the great password debate interesting too. (I
keep all my data in a Truecrypt container.)
So... no real complaints. I don't miss Quicken 98 at all. Thank you,
developers, for a great Open Source tool. :)
