Use the View > Basic Ledger style.  So long as you only have 2 splits
(like most transactions) the entirety of the "near" split (local to the
Account you have the open Register of) will be implied.

Though even in the Auto-Split and Transaction Journal views, the current
balance tally should be auto-summed to facilitate quick data entry.
