Can't help you with that error message, but I found it easier just to
use an applescript
do shell script "source /Users/<username>/.profile ; /opt/local/bin/
gnucash >& /dev/null & "
and run that from Launchbar
(note I built from MacPorts so your gnucash directory will be different)
