no conversion of multi currency

hi,

i have run into a strange situation. I have two accounts, with different 
currencies. It has been working perfectly till today. Normally i have 
entered an amount into one of it, and if no exchange rate was present 
for the day, it has been asked for it. Now things changed. Entering 
value, and no currency conversion, simply applying the value on the 
other account.
I have not updated gnucash since a while (still 2.2.7), so any ide what 
of my settings been chnaged?
