Hi,

I am having problems understanding the financial instruments reporting
in 2.3.15 (unstable) - in comparison to 2.2.9 (each on WinVista).

Following example as attached:

01.07.: buy 100 shares à 50 EURO, price manually added in price db
01.08.: dividend payment 100 EURO
15.08.: sell 50 shares à 60

price database for share:
01.07. 50 EURO - manually added
19.07. 52,66 EURO - finance quote

Then there are some unexpected results shown in the advanced portfolio
report at the following reporting dates:

01.07.: transaction cost not allowed for in investment income which is
defined as AFTER transaction costs as was in 2.2.9 [with investment
income I mean the last but two column - sorry my locale is German, so
everything is to be translated)]
31.07.: price set latest before reporting date, should be 52,66;
displayed price is 50,00
01.08: dividend payment shown negative and not allowed for - as positive
amount - in total investment income

There is a new feature in the preferences to have new accounts for
currency / capital market transactions. If set on, then automatic lines
are added to each purchase / sell. In the attachment this is NOT turned
on. Is this new possibility good for accounting for realized
gains/losses shown as sub item in equity? If so how. Could someone
provide an example for that? There files in my installation folder with
names sounding like examples, but GnuCash refused to open them.

BTW: The lines are not added for dividend transactions associated to a
share account.

If these are bugs, then just give me shout if you want me to file a bug.

/J.
