I think I would set it up like this:[I added the totals to illustrate how
the account summary could appear]
EXP:Auto:Truck:
                 gas $40
                 parts $30
                 etc $80
Total truck $150
EXP:Auto:Car
                gas $90
                parts $20
                etc $70
Total car $180
Then in reports when you select the accounts you want listed, you end up
with two sections that look just like that instead of:

Expense:Auto:gasoline:prius2007 $140
                               pickup95 $30
Total Gas $170

Expense:Auto:Insurance:pickup95 $15
                                  prius2007 $56
Total Insurance $71

Expense:Auto:Maintenance:pickup95
                                     prius2007
If you want total spent in gas, total spent in insurance and total spent per
vehicle, I dunno
