Well yes. The polite response to getting a gift you don't like is to
give it somebody else, throw it in the trash, or to put it in the back
of the closet and only bring it out when the gift giver is visiting. I
think most people would perceive publicly trashing the gift or the
gift giver as being rude.

At least that's the way I treat gifts I don't like.
