"Balance" column width seems fixed.

That's right, David. It seems odd to me that one can widen the leftmost column
with ease but the right-most only responds to the double click. What I could
do with is method of defining column width similar to that on a spreadsheet.
Either that, or I need two mice, each one to grab either boundary of the
column and then haul them apart. ;-)
