gnucash 2.4.0 slow windows startup

I have the same issue on a notebook with Win XP Professional SP2. Are
you using Win XP Prof. as well?

This problem is a known issue. See https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=521817

Unfortunately it looks like nobody has been able to find the root cause
so far.

Thanks for your investigation. Hopefully this helps to solve this issue.

Not sure if this is network related. GnuCash is known to connect to
localhost (the system it is running on, no outside connection) which
does cause issues sometimes. But as far as I know they can be very
easily solved by adding an entry for localhost to the hosts file.  

Unfortunately this does not help with this extremely long startup though.
