Anyone using GnuCash in OZ for BAS?

Hi all.

I'm a very new user of GnuCash, and have been quite impressed so far.
There are a lot of user-interface things I'd change [1], but the basic
"engine" seems very sound.

Is anyone using GnuCash for business in Australia? In particular for
doing BAS reports? I'd hugely appreciate a blow-by-blow account of how
to do it, because at the moment it looks like that's going to be a very
manual process.

And of course, any other hints people may have for use in the Australian
environment would be very interesting.

[1] Here's my wish list:
     An undo function
     Filtering on the memo field
     Filtering on the transfer field
     Placing highlighted text into the search field
     Using the currently selected transaction as a filter template
     Having multiple search result tabs open at once
     Being able to mark multiple transactions and perform the same
        action on all
     ... for starters :-)
