Using same data file between Windows and Mac versions ?

Should work fine as long as you're careful to not try to work on the same file at the same time and are careful to ensure that you always synchronize the file when switching machines. If you're going to use something like Dropbox, you should make a special folder for the accounting files (because Gnucash will make a bunch of backup and log files in addition to your primary file) and set up Dropbox to track the whole folder. If you're going to keep the file in a shared folder on a server, no worries, it should just work.
