GnuCash 2.4.8 broken on openSUSE12.1

The GnuCash 2.4.8 package in the openSUSE 12.1 repository is broken -
output appended.

Bug number 724917 at bugzilla.novell.com gives more details.

I tried building 2.4.8 and then 2.4.7 from the gnucash.org source
tarballs, and got similar results.

Anything I can try, short of reverting to 2.4.0?
