to begin downloading, i go into gnucash.org, click on max os x intel, then
click on 'direct link.' after a few minutes, a hard drive like icon called
gnucash intel-2.4.7 comes up on desktop. open it. 6 items. double click on
gnucash icon. software opens with tips of the day. go to import. select qif.
qif import window opens. click forward. (half of the times 'forward' does
not respon.) select qif file window opens. click on 'all files' in lower
right window. finder window opens. click on the separate folder that holds a
copy of quicken data. go back to 'select qif' window. click on 'select'.
name of quicken data file appears in blank window next to 'select'. click
'forward at bottom right. turns into blank window with the url that is
referenced in last email, sourceforge.net in black and remainder in grey.

i think i have pretty much traced the steps.

as for the app disappearing i think it's because i didn't realize when i
drag the gnucash intel-w.4.7 from desktop into trash, i'm actually ejecting
it. should i drag it into app folder instead? thanks.

respect
