Hi,

A long filename like that means that you have opened a backup file (and worked
on it) several times over. I'm fairly sure that auto-backup file naming is
covered in the FAQ somewhere, but in brief:

You started with PERSO.gnucash, and saved that on 2012-Jan-12 at 22:10, and an
auto-backup was created, called PERSO.<timestamp>.gnucash. at some later
time, you opened and edited this file, saving it, casuing another backup to be
made on 1st Feb. Same again before/on 15th Sept.

The dated files are the auto-backups, not your "proper" data file.

Your best bet is probably to do a save-as on whatever you consider to be your
current data file under some sensible name (maybe in a new, clean folder?) and
delete all the accumulated cruft from your existing accounts data folder (then
try to only open the main file in the future!)

HTH,
Maf.
