Regarding your question a) it is true that the first time you try to
edit a split line containing the status 'y' you will get an error
message, but you must be careful not not to press 'Enter' at that point,
because the focus is on the box that disables the warning for future
edits.  To reset the warning, click on Actions:Reset Warnings and follow
the prompts.

Regarding question b) When you have more than one copy of the file it is
very easy to get out of sync if one file is edited but not the other.  I
generally consider only one file location as valid, and any others as
backups, probably out of date.

For c), I did succeed with the build myself, but it is not easy unless
you are familiar with linux.
