Help importing Quicken files

Lydia,

If you look into the gnucash-help file (available as a PDF on the GnuCash
site), you'll find that the Quicken import is done via the QIF file format.
This is a file that can be written out from Quicken. The normal working
Quicken file is a QDF file format and isn't the one that's imported into
GnuCash.
So, the bad news is that you have to have a working copy of Quicken to read
in your files and write out a QIF. The good news is that if your version of
the data files was Quicken 2010, and you know anyone else who has a copy of
the program, you could read in your old data files and subsequently write
out a QIF. I did so somewhat recently and it worked fine. You'll likely have
to fix a few things here and there, but it's not insurmountable.
