Migrating Gnucash to iMac

Unlike the other platforms, the Mac implementation of GnuCash doesn't
understand the system file-open intents.  What this means is that unlike
other systems, on a Mac you cannot click on a datafile and have GnuCash
open *that* datafile.  What will happen is that GnuCash will start as you
expect, but it will still open the last datafile you opened, which in your
case is "none".

What you need to do is start GnuCash and then File -> Open and tell
gnucash where your data file is.  Are you saying that you tried this and
it didn't work?  If it didn't work, did you by any chance use SQLite as
your backend?
