Thanks Ian, that helps explain it.

I clocked mine at nearly 40 seconds to load, that's awful considering large
programs fire up almost instantly.

Having persevered with GNU cash for a year or so I find myself looking for
an alternative, mainly due to the splits issue {see separate thread}.

My set-up is pretty straightforward really, with around 20 or so active
accounts to monitor. This includes stocks and shares which takes forever to
input data correctly, or at least it does with me, lol.

Could anyone recommend a similar alternative, doesn't have to be free but I
prefer local install rather than cloud operation.
